Nautilai(Plus)

Product Overview

Nautilai (plus) is specifically designed for drug discovery teams conducting functional 3D tissue drug testing, IC_50 / EC_50 efficacy analysis, and toxicity screening using calcium imaging technology. It enables 96-well contractility testing and up to 1536-well fluorescence testing on a single instrument.

  • Cell Models : Cardiac, skeletal muscle, neuronal, and neuromuscular models.
  • Culture Types : 2D cultures, organoids, and 3D tissues.

All achievable with one single system.

Key Features – High-Performance, High-Throughput Calcium Fluorescence Imaging Platform

  • Non-Invasive, Coating-Free 3D Tissue Formation : Eliminates the complex and costly extracellular matrix (ECM) coating steps during cell seeding, significantly reducing prep time while maximizing experimental reproducibility.

  • High-Throughput Simultaneous Measurement of Contractile Force & Physiological Signals : Enables high-throughput screening (HTS) of large compound libraries in a short time frame, while precisely monitoring inotropy (contractile force) alongside linked electrophysiological properties

  • Real-Time Non-Invasive Analysis : Utilizes non-destructive optical and magnetic sensing technology, allowing long-term tracking of drug responses and continuous data accumulation on the exact same sample.

  • In Vivo Biomimetic Environment : When paired with high-quality human iPSC-derived cells, it creates an environment that closely replicates actual human tissue, maximizing the accuracy of drug efficacy and safety evaluations.
Nautilai(Plus)
- Measures Contractility and Baseline Tissue State : Evaluates contractile force alongside the baseline physiological condition of the tissue.
- Captures Ca2+ Dynamics, Voltage Amplitude, and Kinetics : Enables detailed tracking of intracellular calcium handling as well as electrical signal amplitude and kinetics.
- Applies and Synchronizes Stimulation Protocols : Supports precise application and synchronization of user-defined pacing/stimulation protocols.
- Provides Visual Verification : Offers visual inspection and data validation capabilities.
Nautilai(Plus)
- Automatic Waveform Processing & Feature Extraction : Refers to automated algorithms that detect peaks, baseline values, and signal kinetics (e.g., rise/decay times) directly from raw trace data without manual intervention.
- Standardized Outputs : Ensures consistent, ready-to-analyze parameters across replicates for key physiological endpoints—contractile force, beat frequency (rate), and calcium transients.

Recommended Applications

  • Safety Assessment of Drug Candidates : Early verification of cardiotoxicity, proarrhythmic risk, and potential sarcopenia/muscle wasting effects.

  • Cardiac & Muscular Disease Modeling : Construction of 3D disease models including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), drug-induced myocardial injury, Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), and sarcopenia.

  • High-Throughput Screening (HTS) : High-throughput evaluation of compound library impacts on contractile force across cardiac, skeletal, and other tissue models.
