Pure Population of Human Neurons The Neurosight®-S recovers quickly upon thawing to quickly form an intertwined network of neurons. The above images were taken from a 12-well culture plate 2 day, 7 days, 12 days and 14 days post-thawing(Magnification 200x). The Neurosight®-S was seeded following the Neurosight®-S User Guide. The Neurosight®-S expresses typical neuronal markers and structural characteristics which are indicative of appropriate functionality of these cells. 30,000 cells were seeded on Matrigel on a 9 mm coverslip and cultured for 7 days before fixation. Immunocytochemistry was performed by incubating primary antibodies at the concentrations recommended by the respective suppliers at RT for 1 hour.

Electrical activity

The Neurosight®-S demonstrated high capacity to form electrically active neural networks. The activity increases with time as the cells and network mature with time. Check out our application protocol for how to use the Neurosight®-S on the Axion Maestro MEA.
